I woke up to sunshine! Yay! When I initially looked at the weather last week, they said 50*F and rainy. I warmed up the last apple fritter and had some mango for breakfast.
Then I headed out into the wild blue yonder! It was so beautiful. I headed to a bridal shower with my mother in law, sister in law, and grandma in law (?) who usually is referred to as Grammy, haha!
(The bride opening my gifts.) It was a lot of fun! And I almost won one of the games, but I've never seen Tarzan so I mixed up a song from Pocahontas with the one from Tarzan.
When I got home, my neighbor was outside, so I sat down to enjoy the sunshine and chat with her. Then it turned into 4 hours of neighbors, food, ice cream, and more chatting! It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the sunshine so much. And I got to try out my neighbor's folding chair which was extremely comfortable so I foresee borrowing it the next couple months until a certain someone isn't smooshing me. One of my neighbors has been cooped up inside with work, so he got some fish and fries and such for us all to share. After that settled, another neighbor brought out some ice cream. Of course, by this point, John was home from work, and ready for us to go out to dinner. Oops! Sorry sweetie, haha! So we hung out in the sunshine for a bit longer since they kept feeding me. I actually ended up with the faintest of sunburns, but it was totally worth it! I'll just need to remember sunscreen next time....
He wanted to try out the new place here in Baldwinsville, called the Don Juan Cafe. They make Puerto Rican food! The food was so good! He got fried pork, and I got ribs. They came with rice, beans, and a salad. We also got a fried pastry of some sort that had chicken and cheese in it, and I got a non-alcoholic pina colada! We definitely got too much food but it was totally worth it as the prices are really good. Definitely going to get food there again sometime! I think it gave us a bit of a food coma, so we cuddled for a little bit, and then realized it was too late to start our movie so we decided to watch some YouTube and enjoy my sparking apple grape juice with the new glasses he got!
I love the colors! And I realized after he got them, that the reason I love the colors is because they match our living room perfectly!
I also enjoyed another slice of my cake (we shared a plate to make life easy) and now we're headed to bed. He didn't want to plan anything too crazy in case I wasn't up for it, and I think how today went was perfect. Fellowship with family, friends, food, and fun! All in all, a great start to being 21!
